What was the MOMENT you KNEW you were Going to SUCCEED?
By Kevin Nations Posted on Aug 31, 2009
One of the most important questions I ask myself and my students is about their own Moment of Conception!
DO WHAT?
OK, calm down, calm down!
I’m talking about the MOMENT in time that you KNEW you were committed to making the dream you’re now pursuing into a REALITY!
I had a client recently who wanted to revisit his commitment to his business. (Polite words for throw his hands in the air and give up…)
So I asked him – “Frank (darn I wish I could use his real name and shock him into action now!), WHEN was the MOMENT you knew that you were COMMITTED to making this venture a success?”
Silence!
“There WAS a moment, wasn’t there?”
Silence
“Are you COMMITTED to seeing this dream through to reality?”
I guess not!
Duuuuuudes (and of course you gals too) – without access to THE moment in time where you KNEW you were going to be a HUGE success – your MOMENT of CONCEPTION – then there is NO BEGINNING OF LIFE to refer to, nothing to confirm that your dream LIVES!
And when times get tough (AND THEY WILL) and you are tested as to your ability to persevere in the face of adversity (yep, that’ll come 7.3 days later), you need that MOMENT to stand on to affirm your right to lead your clients and to remember that SPACE from which you are BIRTHED as the INDISPUTED EXPERT IN YOUR FIELD.
If that Moment you KNEW your business was going to ROCK is TOTALLY present for you, I welcome you to share it in the comments. (Of course feel free to comment on whatever else that comes up for you here too!)
If you don’t have that MOMENT screaming into your conscience, “REMEMBER ME, REMEMBER ME” – Don’t worry!
Soon I’m gonna have a call that exists SPECIFICALLY to create that unique understanding for you that brings YOU to the place that YOU KNOW that your calling is being DEMANDED by the Universe and that she is ready to reward you HANDSOMELY for sharing it with ABANDON!!
You WILL create your MOMENT of CONCEPTION of the Grandest Business you’ve EVER IMAGINED as a result of your participation in that call! And what you Conceive in THAT MOMENT will be birthed shortly into the most AMAZING UNSTOPPABLE business you’ll ever imagine!
Until then, I welcome your thoughts and feedback in the comments – Keep ‘em coming!

What a great question! I knew the moment when I decided to create my Peaceful Divorce site that I would be teaching the world a new way to embrace this transformational process. That was almost two years ago.
Over the past year I had lapsed into what I now know was fear masking as contentment, fear of my own greatness. The moment screamed “REMEMBER ME” the first time I listened to Kevin speak just a few short weeks ago, and what has happened since then is truly a miracle! Deep gratitude to you Kevin for you channeling my nudge from the Universe!

Well. I’ve had a few of those moments that have lead me to where I am, but one in particular comes to mind.
I was working part time at a Metaphysical book store with a boss who would constantly give me s**t for spending too much time with customers (though they always came back when I was working and spent money). By this time, I had already decided that I wanted to own a store like this one (now it’s a store with a healing centre). This boss was about getting them in, spending money and out as quickly as possible…no care or heart…especially no LOVE. I simply didn’t care, I knew what they needed and gave it to them. (I got fired not long after this, for that reason, lol)
I was working with this one customer who I spent a great deal of time educating her on various aspects of healing (I was just a level 2 Reiki practitioner at the time), crystals, intuition, etc. She spent a bit of money, but not a lot.
Just as I was trying to get her out of the store at the very end of the day (my boss was GLARING at me) she shares that her Mom passed away a few months ago, and she was having a hard time dealing with it. She was even resorting to a lot of heavy drinking (she was mildly drunk at the time). She became very emotional and I just told her it was okay and did my best to try to sooth her pain.
All of a sudden, her Mom “pops in” (I had never channeled dead people before), which I told this woman about. I began to describe her Moms physical, mental and emotional characteristics. This was her Mom, no doubt. I then passed on a message from Mom that she was okay and a few other things that I don’t remember.
The woman began to sob. It was EXACTLY what she needed to hear, so that she could begin the healing process. (my boss was getting angrier by the moment) I gave the woman a hug and knew that she would be okay. She knew she would be okay also, and then she left. I was also changed by this experience, and although I was mildly contemplating doing healing work as a profession, I certainly hadn’t thought that some day this would be my life and I would be doing this for a living. Well…at least a partial living anyway.
Given my own personal healing journey which lead me out of suicidal depression, makes it pretty obvious to me why I’m here. Combine that with a gift for music (singing) which I am working on mixing with the healing work, well, I’m sure you can see where that’s going.
I haven’t hit the moment yet, where I know this will all be wildly successful, but I do know that I am doing what I came to this planet to do.
Thanks for letting me share, and for helping me to remember that moment and why I started all of this to begin with!

I love this post, and totally agree!! I always say that purpose TESTS us to see if we mean business, and sometimes purpose is the crazy calm before the storm!! My moment was in 2003. I saw (down to the outfit I was wearing) myself speaking to a large group of women. I knew in that moment that my tiny storefront would someday expand into a speaking, writing, multi-media business of helping women feel good about themselves, as we all so deserve to enjoy life, create what we want, and HAVE FUN doing it!! I am working on it, Kevin, and the “moments” keep coming! Thanks for such an inspiring post.

My most recent moment happened on 09/09/09. At a point during the day I committed to my health, personal and professional success. There isn’t a plan B or an option NOT to have all that I want anymore.
As a result of that moment and some decisions I made to make changes over 21 days, doors are opening for me when all of this past year I cldn’t see HOW something I’ve been wanting all this while would happen.
YEAH for commitment and clarity!

August 2008. I finally owned the uncomfortable truth that I had been living my consolation life –not bad– but not “it”. And so with just a few drastic adjustments, I forged a new path. While I’m still forging, (and probably always will be) success is certain!

This week was the first time I felt that. I finally signed up on Mark Joyner’s New program for Online Affiliate Income. I realized that I had built up a whole bunch of trust for Mark’s stuff and that I am serious about making money online.
I thought “How can I not win at this if I follow the “guru of Internet Marketing” and that is when I FELT IT! That was the first time in my years of trying where I could feel it down to my toes all the way up to my skull–I AM GOING TO SUCCESSFULLY MARKET ONLINE!
I have attacked the lessons with an intense fervor and I am following all the directions exactly–AND I KNOW IT FOR SURE is happening and in process. I wake up everyday inspired to work more on it, and at night I cannot stop until I drop to sleep. THERE IS NOTHING LIKE THE FEELING OF CERTAINTY–if is the top bar of confidence. And it makes the learning so much easier to feel passionately positive about the outcome.
Glad you asked that question, so I could focus and savor this moment of “Ah-Ha”! And this is just the start, I knew I had to start here before I could implement my big dream.
And that too inspires me to learn well, so I can achieve my dream of being the hugest most efficient educator and implementor of green sustainability online–and we will quickly turn this planet around to healing and harmony.
Kevin, I still aim at a Mastermind Green Sustainable group and look forward to talking with you about it. I look forward to you trying to blow my mind into ultimate success.

Kevin,
My moment happens all the time. It is when I see how much I am changing and how many of the limits I used to have are gone that really opens me to my own success. That is reflected in my clients when they also become more open and happy. It is a great feeling to know that I have such an impact on so many lives.
When I started I had been trained as a coach but didn’t really know what that meant. Now, 2 and a half years later I am an author, I have a blog talk radio show, I do podcasts, I write articles, I do healings, I coach clients and my life is wonderful!! And the amazing thing is that I know it is going to get better!

Kevin,
Your enthusiasm confidence and passion is infectious.
I’m aware of two times in my life when I went all out to suceed for myself. They taught me I could do anything I wanted.
I had vision and plans for my family that I saw through and my 3 children went to Ivy league schools and they are wonderful people and successful.
I helped a lot of other people fulfill their dreams. I didn’t think about my self until my last child went to college then I went back to college and took a Masters in Creative Writing
I like to write but it was not satisfying enough. Helping people is what I wanted to do so I became a certified coach. My niche is not obviuos to me and it is holding me back.
There is a time in everyone’s life when they realize and have a great sense of themselves. It is a marvellous feeling
I would like to coach women to be aware of it and never loose it. What do you call this niche??How would you build a brand around it?
My computer has crashed and I am getting a new one. It will take 3 weeks to have it up and running. My website will follow in a short space of time.In the next three weeks I plan to work through this malaise.
Comments welcome

Kevin,
Great post and great question.
I have ALWAYS known and been committed to my success. I persevere no matter what.
There have been defining moments in discovering my path, which has evolved and changed over the years. One of those defining moments was doing your workshop where I learned how to take my business to the next level. I have been diligently moving forward ever since.
Thanks for YOU!

Kevin,
The moment I realized I would be successful was the day I was notified that I would be laid off from my job! By the way my last official day on the job was my 1st Internet public speaking event! Life has been a blast every since, with some weeks generate up to $5,000 a week or more!
Thanks for asking the question!

I joined the US Army right out of high school because my father with six kids could not support me in college. I knew the army would give me a considerable stipen ($110 a month, that was considerable back then, it paid tution and books it did really) to attend the university. So at the age of 17 I enlisted for that purpose and that purpose only.
After three years of honorable service I left the army and went straight to St. Louis University and enrolled.
The first day I stepped into the class room I was so inspired by what I was about to do that I knew then and there there was no stopping me, that my committment to make something of self was locked in forever, and my passion to get better has never waned and is as alive today at 75 as it was then.
Today I still run my financial pratice and read Kevin Nations because—–I think I can still get better.

I KNEW I was going to succeed when I experienced my first five-figure month. I applied a simple concept I actually got out of the very first joint call you did with Lisa Sasevich … and catapulted myself into a whole new income bracket, nearly doubling my income from one month to the next. Suddenly a world of possibility opened up … and my income has kept rising every single month since, largely due to strategies I learned at Monetize Your Mission. Thank you!!!

I knew I was going to succeed as an artist the first time I painted with oils 30 years ago. And I’ve re-known that moment hundreds of times since. Then later I look at what I’ve done and go, “You’ve got to be kidding.” But I keep going because those “know-it” moments are my raison d’etre – nothing is better in the whole wide world.
The most uncanny doors have opened, successful or great artists who have shown up at the right time to mentor me or connect me, often after I have helped them or others.
The path is taking incredibly long for my art to come into its own, but life itself is a beautiful artwork that takes as long as it takes to grow us into ourselves. Those “know-it” moments are our experience and gift of Heaven here and now.

When I think back, there were many “nudges” towards what I were meant to do. The moment of “conception” took place three years ago when I were called to hold a another human being who were traumatized by the events in her life. Time stopped for two hours and when she left, I knew I had to qaulify myself to help make a difference out there! I started a life coaching practice the beginning of this year. Not making money yet, but refuse to become scared about my financial liabilties.

It was last week on a train journey! I was listening to the Strategy Call briefings from the Big Ticket Blueprint and I put my intention out there to do as many free strategy calls as possible in September to fill my programs with quality participants. Go!

I think it has been re-inforced last month when things have been very tough and the thought of giving up felt soooooo much easier. I got a new marketing course, listened to tons of audio and have re-built my plan for success and now have a clear way ahead, instead of all the doubts – into week 2 of ‘transforming my business’ with an ‘action week’ this week to move the mearketing on in strides. Had 2 calls from the media last week so it must be working….!!!

Pretty sure it began in 1981 when I simply “up and quit” my engineering job in order to ‘make a fortune’ in real estate (didn’t happen) then again in 1994 when I “up and quit” my job again to start my consulting business and make a million (didn’t happen), then again in 2002 when I started my second consulting venture and private hypnotherapy practice. (starting to happen). More of a continuum of knowing that I must persevere to succeed as opposed to a single defining moment when “knew I was going to succeed”.

I think for me it was when I really decided to work through the fear of success, yes you read right – success! I realised that I have an amazing talent for helping people and that my mission was extraordinarily worth it, I owned it and owned myself.
The fire was lit and I am working (admittedly behind the scenes at present albeit creatively) towards completing all parts of the plan…..watch this space

Hello Kevin, As I finished reading your Blog my mind began flashing certain moments from my life where the person I was teaching shifted from stress mode into a more peaceful presence. As each person paid me a “visit” I became more and more peaceful inside of me. I realized I have succeeded. I am in the process of making a real difference to a wider audience. Your specific question was, “What was the MOMENT you KNEW you were Going to SUCCEED?” I am happy to report to you that MOMENT is RIGHT NOW! What I do and how far I reach is just getting better and better and better all the time. Thank You, I will never forget THIS MOMENT!

Similar to one of the above posts, I’ve ALWAYS known I would succeed. Even when I’m in the middle of huge setbacks, it never stops me from creating another info product, testing a new marketing method or writing out my 3 year goals
The first time I knew I was destined to get REALLY big was leading to a room of 100 single men (not one woman in the room) and telling them what women want. Whew! Up until that point I hadn’t led to more then 15 people.
Taking that big leap and doing it flawlessly was my “aha” moment and I haven’t looked back since.
Great post Kevin and always enjoy your enthusiastic way of writing!

The day I was fired I knew I would succeed. In Jan 2007 I was fired from a prestigious law firm in NYC. I had been there for 4 1/2 years as the computer trainer. My manager (he was hired 18 months after me) never liked “my type of training.” I’m not imagining this; he told me in my first yearly evaluation with him. I thought it was odd him giving me an evaluation considering he’d only been at this job 6 months and we only had 3 meetings. It was then when I decided I was tired at being at the behest of someone who knew little about me or my work. I had done research on coaching and great coaching schools in the NYC area. The day I was fired I came home dejected. But I opened my mailbox; I received a letter confirming my enrollment as a coach! I haven’t looked back since!! I’m a certified life/small business coach, speaker, facilitator, Blog Talk radio host, and sherpa guide to my client’s lives. I love my life! Thank you!!!!

I knew when I finally decided to sign up for yours and Lisa’s Monetize Your Mission class and go to Las Vegas (had never been there!) that this was a new beginnning, a time for me to stop thinking that making $$ was a dirty, slimy thing, but that getting reimbursed for me to share my gifts is something that creates energy for others to also do this. Now I’m in Suzanne FB’s Platform Leader’s Group, creating my new niche and brand and I’m on a roll. All of the things I’m involved with contribute to my feeling that I’m ready for this now. Riding my horse, publishing my 2nd book, writing my blog posts – all of this reminds me how exciting every day is and it’s something that I can pass on to others.

I knew I was going to succeed when I kept trying not to. Because each time I experienced a set back and wanted to quit, my spirit kept nudging me toward my dream which would be fulfilled by using my gift of healing. I’m at a place now where I am determined to be successful and receive the income I know I was created to receive. But I had get past the reluctance of “charging” people for my expertise and knowledge. Especially in the healing arts when people try their best to make you feel guilty for asking for their gift (money) in exchange for my gift (healing).

I can’t remember back to when I did not have the commitment to succeed, and the knowledge that somehow I could and should and would.
But how? That has been the hard thing for me.
The internet gave me the biggest step forward – because it cut out a lot of the middle people: publishers, editors, and so on and so forth.
The internet gave me – an image from childhood – my own skipping rope. And now I just had to get others to want to come and join.
Over the past 3 years I’ve gone a lot of places – and this year I am taking to just go through whatever I need to go through to make into the world in a much bigger way.
So back to your question: what was the moment? Maybe I was born with that commitment. But I’ve had ever so much to learn – and haven’t learned enough yet – to go from commitment to making it in a way that feels enough.

back in October of 1995 I realized that something was really wrong, that the information that I had been getting from Cornell University and others who I thought were “experts”, wasn’t working, and I started doing hands on research. Quickly I started discovering, (L)Earning new insights from the hands on research.
That started giving me a responsibility to humanity, society, and our environment. The vision for a state of the art regional food composting facility, to divert over a thousand tons a day of source separated food waste from incinerators and landfills was born, and our cutting edge in house, hands on research has continued to expand our knowledge.
the weak link it connecting with visionary investors interested in a sustainable ROI as a well earned reward for providing massive value to society and our environment. So, that’s where the project, I need help. I am human, and know that this project is bigger, far more important than just me. It’s about our future, collectively, as the human race, about creating a sustainable environment.
“Team” means Together Everybody Achieves More”.
Lots of people think I am a dreamer, crazy, that it will never happen. And a few people say I am a genius and visionary, that it needs to happen, not for me, but for all of us.

Kevin –
Thank you for this most excellent question…talk about a laser question. I KNEW the day I first stepped into the training for the Neurological Repatterning work I do now.
I signed up for the whole training enchilada about three hours into the three day seminar in which it was being offered.
Since that time, I have known it every single day, with one notable exception (where I slipped back into someone ELSE’s fear). I’ve taken huge risks and am way out on that proverbial limb…and it’s fine. I KNOW I am succeeding, and the finances will catch up.
I’ve had a number of successful ventures and adventures in my life – and never before have I had this deep, full-on knowing that I am in the right place, doing my work.
And yours & Lisa’s piece of that, helping me get crystal clear on how to OFFER it with integrity without being salesy has been HUGE. Thank you.
